Starting MY Blog

Well, it seems that starting a Blog is the "thing to do" these days so I might as well too. Especially since, at the present, I am lucky enough to have free time on my hands since I'm unemployed! This lucky turn-of-events happened when my wonderful fiance gave me the encouragement and support to quit my insanely stressful job that was giving me health problems from all the pressure.
I had been suffering from chronic migraines that started out at 2/week but soon increased to 4/week and I didn't know why. This had been going on for over 6 months and I had been seeking professional advise from multiple doctors and spent a few thousand dollars: chiropractor, acupuncturists, massage therapists, psychologist, neurologists... you name it. I didn't attribute the source being my work environment although each of them questioned if I needed to stay working where I was, until I started getting NEW symptoms, as if feeling like my head was going to explode on a weekly basis and being a social-outcast wasn't enough! I started having insomnia and that led to IBS because as the doctors were telling me, my body was shutting down! That's where I draw the line and I started to listen to what my body was SCREAMING at me.

The day after I gave my notice to my employer to stop working in a 2-week timeframe, I felt great! The stomach issues went away immediately as did the insomnia. Normal again, not a headache at all, whereas previously I had been getting them so frequently that I was used to rating the intensity of the pain throughout the day. This was a change! WOW! Indeed, I think that my job was causing these problems, or my inability to cope with the high-pressure sales environment was. I couldn't have done it without the support of my loving Fiance, Tim, who gave me the strength and courage to give my notice and let me know it's ok for me to quit without having another job right away, we both agreed I needed a break to let my body rest from what it had been going through.

So now that I'm virtually Migraine-free (I have only had a couple in the past month versus what I used to suffer in a week!)... I have been planning my wedding! Tim & I had initially thought about eloping to Bali and having a big party to celebrate on 8/8/08 here in San Diego but I changed my mind and not a moment too soon! It seems that 8/8/08 is going to be a popular day, it's the luckiest day of the year because 8s are very lucky to the Chinese and I picked it because if you turn an 8 on its side, it becomes the symbol of Eternity! Now that I'm in wedding-planner mode, I am SO happy that we are going forward with this or I would have missed out on all the fun of having our closest friends and family there to celebrate the most special day of our lives. We have chosen our location at a lovely Bed & Breakfast in Northern San Diego that has a secluded feel to it. The ceremony is in a garden and we'll be getting married by our friend Lisa that introduced us to eachother!! (I stole that idea from our friends Kurt & Becca's wedding we went to in Hawaii this summer) We have decided on our wedding party: I will have my friends Becky & Annalisa be my Maid of Honors, and the Bridesmaids will be Evin, Leslie, and Tim's sister Jessica. Tim's side will have Jon be his Best Man, and his Groomsmen will be Kevin, and his brother Ben, and my brother Daniel. We sign the contract to secure the location and package that includes catering, photographer, and florals this Saturday! Tim is SO excited with starting the plans of the co-Bachelor/Bachelorette party which will be in Mammoth and be in March. This is such a special time, not to mention that it's also the holidays!

Bachelor party in March... in Mammoth? Does that mean it will include skiing/snowboarding? ...and I am stuck over here on the other side of the world....

You have a nice blog here and I am interested to see where you go with this. The design is also cool. Keep up the nice writing!

I am so very happy for you my baby doll. You have met a wonderful man to spend the rest of your life with. From the moment I held my precious newborn daughter in my arms I imagined how this day would be and it is just around the corner. Much happiness always!
